Job Summary:
A Student Engagement Specialist plays a vital role in ensuring the well-being and success of the students through enhancing student support services and fostering a positive learning environment.
Qualifications:
Valid State of Ohio Teaching License
Must possess a minimum of five years of experience as a teacher leader or administrative role.
Three to five years of experience in a similar job in a high school setting.
Proven success working collaboratively in educational leadership
General Description:
Serve as a resource for information
Be a sounding board for ideas for the high school campus
To empower students by providing a challenging and supportive environment for personal growth and leadership opportunities.
To facilitate students’ developmental process of becoming an active and productive adult citizen with a personal mission.
Essential Functions:
Build relationships with students.
Identify priorities and allocate resources to support students' emotional and mental health.
Collaborate with various departments to address student needs, provide guidance, and contribute to the overall student experience.
Oversee the student experience and foster a school climate that enhances community and student growth.
Be present and visible in the school community by frequently connecting with students in common areas, lunchrooms, co-curricular spaces, hallways, and other spaces where students gather.
Foster a caring, positive, and engaging learning environment.
Encourage student enthusiasm for, and sense of community in the school by generating student support for school activities and developing class programs.
Establish and support respectful relationships with faculty and staff.
Work closely and communicate regularly with the athletic director, school counselor, school nurse, and facilities personnel.
Serve as a conduit between students and faculty by providing important feedback to staff about the student experience and mediating conversations between students and adults.
Serve as a point person, counselor, and division head in supporting students facing significant challenges.

This position is identified in the Xenia Community Schools Bloodborne Pathogens Exposure Control Plan as Classification.
Occasional interaction among unruly children

The vacancy listed below is posted in compliance with the negotiated agreement
between the Xenia Education Association and the Xenia Community Board of
Education.
Salary is in line with the respective salary schedule.
