Sinclair seeks to attract an academically and culturally diverse faculty that carries out the mission of the college with dedication, innovation and a commitment to the success of each student.
Sinclair is currently seeking an instructor with a large animal techniques background to teach a large animal medicine course part-time (adjunct) faculty for day, evening, online and weekend courses at our downtown Dayton campus; Courseview campus in Mason, OH; and Englewood, Huber Heights, and Centerville Learning Centers.
The course can be taught in an online format, but the instructor must be able to coordinate with an on-campus instructor for hands-on labs.
Principal Accountabilities Plan and organize instruction in ways which maximize student learning Prepare, distribute and submit syllabi for all assigned sections in accordance with department and divisional policies Employ appropriate teaching and learning strategies, use available instructional technology when appropriate Modify, where appropriate, instructional methods and strategies to meet diverse student’s needs Support classroom and online efforts to promote student success Evaluate and return student work in a timely manner to promote learning Maintain accurate records of student progress Submit final grade rosters according to established deadlines Maintain confidentiality of student information Cannot exceed maximum of 12 credit hours per semester Requirements A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree required Being a licensed RVT required A minimum of five years of experience as a DVM or RVT required A minimum of 3 years experience with mentoring or instruction and within large animal medicine preferred Evidence of successful prior teaching experience preferred A demonstrated commitment to improving student learning through innovative strategies shown to help students succeed at the course and program level required Effective communication skills and interpersonal skills with the capacity to work successfully in a culturally diverse college community required Demonstrated skills in using modern educational technology, including multimedia-based instruction required Official transcripts for all post-secondary degrees (if applicable) and successful completion of a background check will be required prior to date of hire.
