NH-02:
DUTY 1: Performs a variety of developmental duties designed to develop knowledge and skill in applying computer engineering principles, methods and techniques.
Performs assignments of moderate difficulty where work procedures are established and a number of specific guidelines exist.
Work assignments consist of a series of specific and related tasks have been selected to orient the employee in the practical application of basic occupational principles, concepts and techniques.
Assignments are combined with training to further develop analytical skills, crew positional knowledge and techniques in the occupation.
Assistance in problem solving is available from the supervisor or a higher-graded specialist.
Performs computer engineering work in support of conventional projects or portions of larger projects and programs under the guidance of a senior engineer.
The incumbent must apply judgment in the independent application of the professional methods and techniques previously learned.
DUTY 2: Performs regular and recurring assignments.
Independently performs work assignments, which gradually increase in difficulty and complexity.
The employee determines the practices and procedures to use in accomplishing conventional tasks, and interprets and adapts guidelines in order to resolve procedural or factual issues.
Recommends solutions or a course of action for problems not covered by instructions, policies, or accepted practices of the occupation.
The work consists of different or unrelated Computer Engineering processes and methods requiring the employee to recognize conditions and elements that must be identified, analyzed and evaluated to discern interrelationships.
Plans and carries out the collection and analysis of information, data and standards used by the assigned organization to perform computer engineering tasks.
Researches problems and issues to identify cause, and develops solutions which take into consideration the methods and techniques of various professional engineering disciplines.
DUTY 3: Participates in conducting studies to identify computer system deficiencies.
Utilizes technology to assist in the development, testing, evaluation, or modification of computer methods and capabilities to subject matter requirements and end user abilities.
Assists in the development of system capabilities, which enhance the effectiveness, and efficiency of overall system.
Conducts end user demonstration and orientation upon implementation and as needed to ensure optimum utilization.
Carries out special projects designed to facilitate the full use of the intern's training and development.
Such assignments include the development of written summaries and reports to be used by higher level engineers, contractors and/or customers; leading teams of co-workers in completion of a conventional project; serving as a team member on large, complex studies; etc.
Uses a wide range of engineering manuals, standard publications and technical material to obtain information, analyze data and prepare reports.
Presents briefings or presentations on findings, which may require gaining senior officials' acceptance of proposed solutions.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1.
Knowledge of the principles, concepts, and theories of Computer Engineering and the standard practices, methods, and tactics, techniques, procedures of the occupation sufficient to perform difficult, but well-precedent assignments.
