Position: Software Engineer (SE2)
Location: Wright Patterson AFB, OH (WPAFB)
Security Clearance Required: Active Top Secret/SCI
Position Type/Standard Work Hours: Full-time/40 hours per week
Summary/Objective:
This is a full-time on-site position that will lead the research, development, and sustainment of systems and software capabilities for intelligence community implementation and will support the National Air and Space Intelligence Center (NASIC) by performing activities focused on assisting the Air Force in moving forward with digital transformation.
Primary Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and implement web applications to power a national toolset with a large user base.
Assists senior Software Engineers with routine assignments.
Applies fundamental knowledge of operating systems and programming languages.
Works on well-defined problems and learns under direct supervision.
Possesses sufficient writing skills to prepare and generate technical reports and other documentation pertinent to the position.
Write well designed, testable and efficient code that meets technical requirements.
Work closely with users to troubleshoot code defects and deploy timely fixes.
Participate in a highly collaborative team environment, contributing to all phases of the development lifecycle.
Deploy applications on classified and secured networks.
Deliver projects on time and with attention to quality.
Required Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Technology.
Four to Eight (4-8) years of experience to include Software Design, Development, Test, and Evaluation.
Experience with RHEL and CENTOS
Hands on experience with Java, C++, JavaScript, React.
js, Web Services.
Must have an active Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility.
Experience programming within a cloud environment (AWS preferred).
Experience with modern version control systems (i.
e.
, SVN, Git).
Experience administering/monitoring Windows Servers (including security requirements) and upgrading operational systems.
Good interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with all levels of business users and management.
Ability to work individually and on team projects in an environment of teamwork and cooperation.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position does not supervise the work of others.
Work Environment:
This job operates in a professional office environment.
This role routinely uses standard office equipment.
Physical Demands:
Must be able to operate a computer and other standard office equipment.
Must be able to remain in a stationary position, 80%.
