Job Description: Torch Technologies is seeking a Systems Engineer Senior – Operations located at Kettering, Ohio (Dayton/WPAFB Area) to support our EPASS GB contract.
As part of the AFLCMC/GB Business and Enterprise Systems Directorate (BES), this position will support the GBS/MRO-Supply (MRO-S) Program Management Office (PMO).
This position requires a highly motivated individual with experience including a broad theoretical and practical knowledge of Agile system engineering to the acquisition process and be able to: Identify, describe, and apply emerging IT acquisition strategies, best practices, IT-related performance measures and quality management in support of acquisition planning, information assurance/cybersecurity, test and evaluation processes, verification and validation processes, and/or, fielding and sustaining of IT/software systems; Conduct reviews on program portfolio to evaluate and/or recommend alternative plans, improve systems engineering programs/processes, manage/sustain program technical baseline, and design/perform system level tests to assure that subsystems and system performance is achieved in accordance with approved specifications; Perform program reviews to evaluate alternative proposed plans, systems engineering programs, design and test results to assure that subsystem and system performance is achieved in accordance with program specifications; Prepare technical documentation which defines, specifies, and recommends system/subsystem characteristics; Prepare management reports and conducts technical presentations for planning, implementation and corrective action using application of engineering principles; Perform validation of software systems including development of analyses/evaluation criteria and procedures, analyses/evaluation of results, and related recommendations; Provide Agile and Digital system/program engineering, technical support and technical training to support programs/initiatives including, but not limited to, acquisition, development, integration, sustainment, continued evolution, deployment/fielding and installation, and operations oversight; Provide engineering support services and inputs to program and project risk management activities in compliance with AF Systems Engineering Assessment Model (SEAM) processes; and, Perform all (system) engineering according to applicable DOD, AF, AFMC directives, instructions, and manuals, to include, but not be limited to, AFI 63-101, AFMAN 63-144, AFMCI 63-1202, AFMAN 63-128, AF/ 99-103 - and their updates, successors (as happens over time).
Job Requirements: Possesses the advanced knowledge, experience and recognized ability to be considered an expert in their technical/professional field, possess the ability to perform tasks and oversee the efforts of junior and mid-level personnel within the technical/professional discipline.
Will demonstrate advanced knowledge of their technical/professional discipline as well as possess a comprehensive understanding and ability to apply associated standards, procedures and practices in their area of expertise.
(Program Office, Enterprise and Staff Level Support interface) EDUCATION: Minimum Recommended Education and Experience: Advanced Degree (MA/MS) or Doctorate from an ABET accredited program in Computer Science, Information Technology or other Engineering Discipline and 10 years of experience, 5 of which must be in the DoD, or BA/BS Degree from an ABET accredited program in Computer Science, Information Technology or other Engineering Discipline and 12 years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline being performed, 5 of which must be in the DoD, or, 15 years of directly related experience with proper certifications, 8 of which must be in the DoD.
CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Possesses any or all of the following certifications (Desired but not required): AWS Certified Solutions Architect, (or associate) AWS Cloud Practitioner or Microsoft Axure equivalent Current certification in Oracle/OCI products and/or databases CompTIA Security+ CE Agile/Scrum Certifications Candidate must possess and be able to maintain at T3/SECRET Security Clearance.
