Position Summary:
Are you interested in working for UDRI, a national leader in scientific and engineering research, serving government, industry and nonprofit customers? UDRI invites qualified candidates to apply for our Associate Research IT Professional opening!
The Associate IT Research Professional assists UDRI employees to apply information technologies effectively to carry out their research, business, and operational activities.
Supports and directs the work of student employees.
Assembles, configures, installs, troubleshoots and maintains desktop PC's, servers and related network equipment.
Performs day-to-day operation of the RITO help desk, assisting and training users, tracking calls, directing student employees.
Maintains RITO lab, maintains inventories, prepares requisitions, maintains files and performs other office administrative duties.
Minimum Qualifications:
• High School graduate plus four years of relevant experience (diverse, progressive administrative) and training, OR an associate degree plus two years of relevant experience and training, OR a Bachelor's and no previous experience required
• Two years of expertise in a windows desktop environment
• Must be able to work independently and have good customer interaction skills
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Experience in providing helpdesk functions
• CompTIA Security+ certification or the ability to obtain this certification within one year of employment
• Due to requirements of our research contracts with the U.
S.
federal government, candidates for this position must be a U.
S.
Citizen
• A valid driver’s license and low risk driving record is required to be insurable by the University
Preferred Qualifications:
While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:
• 1+ years of Active Directory and Windows File Server expertise
• Experience in setup and management of imaging services for building out workstations for windows
• Experience supporting Linux systems
