CFO/Controller

*CFO/Controller* *Role*: Responsible for managing all financial-related activities of a 55-employee export grain company.
This will include, but not limited to, direct responsibility for accounting, finance, forecasting, strategic planning, financial analysis and reporting, investor relationships and institutional financing.
*Primary Duties & Responsibilities: * * Oversees the company’s grain inventory management system and the company’s accounting system.
* Continually monitors the company’s financial performance and reports trends, variances and opportunities to the management team.
* Ensures accurate and timely financial reporting and maintenance of internal controls.
* Lead financial planning and analysis efforts of the company.
* Provides technical accounting guidance and support to all employees, including developing, implementing and monitoring accounting policies and procedures.
* Ensures that financial statements are prepared in accordance with GAAP and that all inventory, COGS and other accounts are reported accordingly.
* Maintains relations with financial institutions and serves as the point of contact and liaison for Bluegrass Farms.
* Prepares and delivers required reporting to the company’s lender (s), including weekly Borrowing Base Certificates, weekly cash flow forecast updates, and compliance certificates.
* In collaboration with company’s management team, prepares annual budgets and tracks compliance on a monthly basis.
* Works with management to develop financial strategies into operational goals.
* Leads financial management and analysis, including forecasting the financial performance of the company and producing quantitative dashboards on which management decisions can be made.
* Oversees the accuracy and integrity of monthly, quarterly and annual accounting reports.
* Implements grain hedging strategies and monitors compliance with the company’s written hedging policy.
* Leads risk management and commercial insurance functions, including handling workers compensation, liability and property & casualty insurance programs.
* Oversees the company’s treasury management duties, including cash management and funding activity.
*Required Qualifications: * * 7-10 years of experience in accounting required.
* CPA designation a plus.

* Strong communication and leadership skills.
* Experience with cash flow management, inventory control and auditing experience required.
* Strong attention to detail and organization.
* Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
* Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate when needed.
* Must be proficient with ERP systems, inventory management systems, * Microsoft Office Suite and QuickBooks Pro or other accounting software.
* Thorough understanding of GAAP principles and auditing practices.
* Background in grain inventory management and grain accounting strongly preferred.
